Sustainable Steel Fabrication

Litana Group has updated its Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) calculations and achieved improved sustainability performance for its fabricated steel structures. According to the latest data, the GWP Total (A1–A3) value is 1.07 kg CO₂e/kg, reflecting greenhouse gas emissions generated during the raw material supply, transportation and manufacturing stages. The improved result has been achieved through the continuous optimisation of production processes, including improvements to the supply chain, reduced energy consumption and increased manufacturing efficiency. Since the beginning of 2026, production operations have been powered by 100% renewable electricity. A lower GWP value enables clients to reduce the overall carbon footprint of their projects and supports the implementation of more sustainable construction solutions.

Advanced Solutions for Welding Efficiency

In industrial projects, welding productivity depends on much more than technical welding skills. Material availability, workplace organisation, logistics, permit management, access conditions and coordination with other project activities all have a direct impact on productive welding time. To improve process efficiency, Litana Group uses arc-on-time measurement systems that provide accurate data on actual welding activity. This information helps identify factors limiting productivity and enables project teams to address potential issues before they affect progress. A data-driven approach supports better workforce utilisation, more efficient planning and smoother project execution. In selected projects, these solutions have contributed to a 50–60% increase in welding productivity.

Litana Finland – 20 Years Anniversary

Representatives of Litana Group teams from different countries and departments gathered in Turku to mark the 20th anniversary of Litana Finland. Over two decades, Litana Finland has grown into one of the largest companies within the group, employing around 350 specialists across shipyards in Turku, Rauma and Helsinki. Over this period, many employees of Litana Group have contributed to Litana Finland projects, working in shipyard environments, adapting to changing vessels, teams and project conditions. Continuous project execution and steady growth have become an important part of the group’s development.
